How to Set Up Dynmap on Your Minecraft Server

Install and configure Dynmap on your Paper server. Dynmap creates a live, interactive web map of your Minecraft world accessible from any browser.

What Is Dynmap?

Dynmap is a Minecraft plugin that generates a real-time interactive web map of your server. Players can view the map in a browser, see where other players are, and explore the world without logging in.

Installation

  1. Download Dynmap from SpigotMC.org or Modrinth
  2. Upload the JAR to your plugins folder via the Pterodactyl file manager
  3. Restart your server
  4. Dynmap starts rendering the map automatically

Accessing the Map

By default, Dynmap runs on port 8123. On CraftNodes, you can access the map at your-server-ip:8123 in a browser. Allow this port in your server settings if needed.

Configuring Dynmap

Edit plugins/dynmap/configuration.txt to customise the map. Change the web port, adjust render resolution, set a custom title, and configure player visibility settings.

Speeding Up Rendering

Initial world rendering can take time. Use the command /dynmap fullrender during off-peak hours. CraftNodes NVMe Gen 4 storage makes chunk reading significantly faster than average hosts, speeding up the render process.
