What Is Factions?
Factions is a Minecraft PvP game mode where players form groups (factions), claim land, build bases, and raid enemy factions. It combines survival gameplay with territorial control and competitive economics.
Required Plugins
- FactionsUUID — The most maintained Factions fork. Handles faction creation, land claiming, and power system.
- EssentialsX — Economy and utility commands
- Vault — Economy API
- Shop plugin — For players to buy and sell resources
- Anti-cheat — Critical for competitive PvP servers (Vulcan or Grim)
Recommended RAM
4-6GB is recommended for a Factions server with 20-50 active players. The Gold or Diamond CraftNodes plan works well for most Factions setups.
Economy Balance
Balance the economy carefully. Too-easy TNT access makes raiding trivial; too expensive makes raiding impossible. Start conservatively and adjust based on player feedback.
Map Reset Schedule
Most Factions servers run seasons with map resets every 1-3 months. This keeps gameplay fresh and prevents dominant factions from permanently locking out new players.
