Minecraft Server Egg Types on CraftNodes: Java, Forge, Fabric, and More

Explore the different server egg types available on CraftNodes. From Paper and Forge to BungeeCord and Bedrock — which egg is right for your server?

Paper (Default)

Paper is the default egg for all CraftNodes Minecraft plans. It provides the best performance for plugin-based servers and supports all Bukkit and Spigot plugins. Recommended for 95% of users.

Forge

The Forge egg sets up your server with the Forge mod loader. Ideal for modpacks and servers that use mods rather than plugins. Upload your mods to the mods folder and start.

Fabric

The Fabric egg provides a lighter, faster alternative to Forge. Best for performance-focused setups and servers running Fabric-specific mods like Sodium, Lithium, and Create Fabric.

Vanilla

The official Minecraft server with no modifications. Use this if you want a completely unmodified experience. No plugins, no performance improvements — pure vanilla.

BungeeCord and Velocity

Proxy eggs for network setups. Use these on a small server plan to run the proxy that connects your backend servers together.

Switching Your Egg

You can switch your server egg from the Startup tab in Pterodactyl. Always back up your server files before switching eggs, as some changes may require reinstalling server files.
