Minecraft Server Monitoring: Tools to Watch TPS, RAM, and Players

Monitor your Minecraft server with Spark, Plan, and Pterodactyl metrics. Track TPS, RAM usage, player counts, and performance trends over time.

Why Monitor Your Server?

Monitoring lets you catch performance problems before players complain, plan capacity upgrades, and understand how your server behaves over time.

Spark Profiler

Spark is the essential performance profiling plugin for Paper servers. Use /spark tps to check current TPS, and /spark profiler to generate a detailed performance report. Download from spark.lucko.me.

Plan Plugin

Plan (Player Analytics) collects detailed statistics over time: player sessions, online time, worlds visited, and performance metrics. It generates a beautiful web dashboard accessible from any browser.

Pterodactyl Metrics

Your CraftNodes Pterodactyl panel shows real-time CPU, RAM, and network usage graphs. Check these graphs to see if your plan is approaching its resource limits.

Uptime Monitoring

Use UptimeRobot (free tier available) to ping your Minecraft server every 5 minutes. Get notified by email or Discord if the server goes down.

Actionable Thresholds

  • TPS below 18: investigate with Spark profiler
  • RAM above 80% consistently: consider upgrading your plan
  • CPU above 90%: look for laggy plugins or consider plan upgrade
